Why Inspire

The personalisation of 1:1 tutoring. The structure of a language school.

Specialist language tutoring with a CEFR curriculum, certified educators, and progress reports. The kind of skill a child carries well past this school year.

One student per session

Your child and their teacher, no shared attention. Each lesson is planned around their level, their gaps, and where they were last week.

Times that fit a school week

Weekday afternoons, evenings, weekends, and school breaks. Steady enough to build skills, light enough not to crowd an already full week.

Built on the CEFR framework

Our curriculum maps to the CEFR levels universities and credential bodies use. Your child moves through clear, documented milestones.

Progress you can see

Every 12 weeks, a teacher-signed report shows where your child stands across all four skills. Documentation, not vague encouragement.

Certified, qualified teachers

Ontario Certified Teachers, DELF examiners, educators with Master’s-level training. Teaching language is their profession, not a marketplace side gig.

Confidence, not only grades

Fluency is as much about confidence as content. Our teachers build rooms where mistakes are expected and trying is the point. Parents notice within weeks.

Our programs

French, Spanish, and English, one-on-one online

A track for wherever your child is starting, from core classes to immersion support to a complete beginner.

French

For students in core French, French Immersion, or starting from zero. We meet them where they are.

  • Core French supportStrengthen grammar, vocabulary, and speaking for students in school French programs.
  • French Immersion catch-upFix playground grammar, build literacy, and develop the accuracy immersion classes rush past.
  • Beginner French (A1 to A2)Start from zero with a phonics-first approach that builds real pronunciation from day one.

Spanish

Native-speaker educators teaching conversational, academic, and immersion-support Spanish at every level.

  • Spanish as a second languageConversation-first Spanish built on phonics and real-world vocabulary, not textbook drills.
  • Spanish immersion supportAcademic Spanish, grammar accuracy, and writing for students in bilingual programs.
  • Exam and credit prepStructured prep for IB, AP Spanish, DELE certification, or high-school credit courses.

English

For ESL students, heritage speakers, and anyone who needs stronger literacy, writing, or academic English.

  • English as a second languageCommunication-first English for students whose home language is French, Spanish, or other.
  • Academic writing and readingEssay structure, reading comprehension, and grammar for stronger school performance.
  • Oral communication and fluencySpeaking confidence, pronunciation, and conversation for everyday and academic use.
Our teaching philosophy

Why most after-school tutoring doesn’t produce fluency

Most sessions are reactive: patch the worksheet, review last week’s test. Language doesn’t work that way. Here is what we do instead.

The traditional struggleThe Inspire approach
Rote memorisingVocabulary lists for Friday’s test, forgotten the next week with no transferable skill left.Conceptual masteryWe teach the grammar logic behind sentences, so students build original language instead of reciting answers.
Silent classroomsOne answer per child in a group of 25. Talk time per student is minutes a week, and speaking anxiety builds.Maximised talk timeIn a 1:1 session your child speaks the whole hour, heard and corrected, then tries again.
Generalist tutoringOne tutor covering maths, science, and French in the same week. Surface knowledge in all three.Language specialists onlyOur educators teach language alone. They catch pronunciation and grammar habits before those patterns set.
Disconnected from schoolTutoring that follows its own program regardless of what the class is covering.School-aligned and CEFR-mappedSessions reinforce provincial FSL benchmarks, CEFR progressions, and AP or DELF goals where relevant.
01

Concept over memorising

A student who memorised verb tables is not the same as one who understands why the verb changes. When the logic clicks, they apply it to sentences they have never seen.

“Why does this work?” not “Memorise this”
02

Interactive, low-stakes practice

Games, role-plays, and tools like Blooket sit alongside structured content. When a child is engaged, the anxiety barrier drops and they start to speak.

Engaged kids learn faster
03

Specialist educators only

Certified language teachers and native speakers who know phonetics, register, and grammatical nuance. They catch subtle errors early, before they become habits.

Aligned to your child’s program

We track Ministry benchmarks, immersion progressions, CEFR levels, and AP requirements. Parents tend to notice it on the next report card.

How it works

Simple to start, easy to fit in

Four steps from first enquiry to first session, without adding chaos to your week.

01

Book a 30-Minute Assessment

A 20 to 30 minute teacher-led session. Your child talks, we listen, and we gauge real comprehension and speaking, not a quiz score.

02

Get a written report

A teacher-signed report: current CEFR level, strengths, areas to develop, and the right starting point. Clear and in plain English.

03

Pick your schedule

Weekday afternoons, evenings, weekends, or breaks. One or two sessions a week, at times that actually work for your family.

04

Watch the progress

Every 12 weeks a signed progress report shows where your child has grown across all four skills. Documentation, not vague updates.

Common questions

What after-school families ask us

Will this conflict with my child’s school language class?

It complements it. We build on what your child is doing in school, filling gaps and extending what the class has no time for. Many students see their school grades improve within a term.

My child already has a lot of homework. Is this too much?

Sessions are 1:1 and focused, with no sitting through material they already know. Between-session practice is light and optional. Confident kids tend to spend less time struggling, not more.

What’s the right plan for once a week?

The Regular plan at $48/session is built for this. Once a week is genuinely enough to build progress with a certified teacher and a structured curriculum. Most after-school families start here.

How does the sibling discount work?

Enroll a second child on any plan and they get 10% off every session for as long as they’re enrolled. Siblings can be on different languages, levels, and schedules. Mention it when you book.

Is $48 a session worth it next to cheaper options?

A $15/hr marketplace tutor is a native speaker having a conversation. That has value, but it isn’t a program. Inspire adds a certified teacher, a curriculum, signed reports, and a long track record.

How quickly will I see results?

Most parents notice a confidence shift within four to six weeks: more volunteering in class, less freezing when asked a question. Level progression shows in the 12-week report at one session a week.

Can sessions happen during school holidays?

Yes. Many families step it up over a break, when students can move faster without school competing for energy. Scheduling is flexible and doesn’t follow a school-year calendar.

What if my child doesn’t click with their teacher?

It’s rare; our educators are known for warmth and patience. If the match isn’t right after the assessment or first session, we’ll find a better fit rather than lose a family over a mismatch.
