Understanding the price

Not all language tutoring is the same

We’re not the cheapest per hour, and we’re upfront about that. Before you compare our rate to what you’ve seen elsewhere, it helps to know what you’re actually comparing.

Marketplace tutor

What $15 to $30 a session buys

  • A native speaker, with no teaching credential required
  • Conversation practice, but no structured curriculum
  • Often a different tutor each time you book
  • No progress tracking or written reports
  • No documentation for portfolios or ESA funding
  • No assessment first, so you start at a guess
Inspire Tutors

  • Certified educators: OCT, DELF examiners, Master’s-level
  • A custom CEFR curriculum built by curriculum writers
  • The same dedicated teacher, every session
  • A signed progress report every 12 weeks
  • ESA and homeschool documentation provided
  • A teacher-led assessment before the first class
What you’re paying for

Six things built into the price

The parts of an Inspire session most tutoring services don’t include.

01

Certified, credentialed educators

Ontario Certified Teachers, DELF examiners, and educators with Master’s degrees in Education and Psychology. Trained professionals, not native speakers with a spare hour.

Hard to find at this rate elsewhere
02

A real curriculum, not improvised lessons

Every level of every program was designed by qualified CEFR curriculum writers. Your child follows a structured path with clear milestones, not a fresh worksheet each week.

6 CEFR levels per language
03

The same teacher, every time

Your child’s teacher knows them well enough to notice what a parent might miss. That continuity is how language acquisition actually works. Marketplace tutors can’t offer it.

Relationship-based learning
04

A signed progress report every 12 weeks

Each quarter you receive a formal, teacher-signed report covering your child’s CEFR level, all four language skills, and clear next steps. Ready for homeschool portfolios and ESA files.

Few tutoring services do this
05

A real assessment first

Before the first session, a certified teacher spends 20 to 30 minutes with your child, then sends a written report on comprehension, speaking, and confidence. Most services skip this and start at Level 1.

Included at no extra cost
06

Years of proven results

Inspire has taught since 2012: more than 2,500 students, over 10,000 hours of classes, and 319 family reviews. A full professional programme families return to year after year.

The real cost comparison

What the cheaper options actually cost

Add up what families spend piecing language learning together from cheaper sources, and Inspire often lands close, while doing more.

A language app (Duolingo, Babbel)$13 to $20 a month. Builds vocabulary, not fluency. No speaking, feedback, or documentation, and many children drift off within two months.
A marketplace tutor (Italki, Preply)$20 to $40 an hour, but you manage the curriculum, replace tutors when yours leaves, and restart often. No reports, structure, or accountability.
An in-person language school$60 to $125 an hour for private lessons. As much as Inspire or more, with fixed schedules and no homeschool-ready documentation.
Inspire Tutors, Intensive plan$42 a session. 1:1, certified teacher, custom curriculum, progress reports, ESA-ready. All of it in one place.
What a plan actually costs

Monthly investment$336 / month
Annual investment$4,032 / year
Arizona ESA (annual)$7,000–$10,000

Less than a coffee a day for a certified teacher, a real curriculum, and a programme your child can build on for years. An ESA account typically covers the full annual cost.

Pricing questions

What parents ask us about pricing

What’s included in every session?

A certified teacher, the CEFR curriculum, the same dedicated teacher each time, and 1:1 attention. Regular and Intensive also include a signed progress report every 12 weeks and ESA documentation.

Why are your rates higher than marketplace tutors?

Different products. A marketplace tutor is a native speaker having a conversation. Inspire is a structured programme by credentialed educators, with an assessed starting point, a curriculum, and signed reports. The price reflects that.

How does the sibling discount work?

The second child enrolled gets 10% off every session, on any plan, for as long as they’re enrolled. Different language, level, or schedule is fine. Mention it when you book and we apply it automatically.

Is there a contract, and how do payments and refunds work?

No contract. You pay per the plan you choose and can change plans from your next billing cycle. We ask for reasonable notice to pause or stop. We’d rather earn your loyalty than lock it in.

Can I use ESA or state education funding?

Yes. Families in Arizona, Florida, Utah, and other states fund Inspire through ESA programs. The Intensive plan at $4,032/year is typically fully covered, and we provide the documentation your program requires.

Is the assessment really free?

Completely. It’s a 20 to 30 minute teacher-led session, and you receive a written report on your child’s level, strengths, and starting point. No catch and no obligation to enrol.

What if my child misses a session?

Life happens. We ask for reasonable notice to reschedule, and our teachers work with families to find another time. We don’t penalise occasional changes; we do ask for consistency as a courtesy to your child’s teacher.

Can I switch plans after starting?

Yes. Many families start on Regular and move to Intensive once they see results. Tell your teacher or our admin team and we adjust from your next billing cycle.

Why is everything priced in USD?

We serve families across the US and Canada, and USD is the clearest reference, especially for ESA funding. Canadian families pay in USD at the current rate, which works out to roughly $57 to $76 CAD per session.
